Will the E-Reader of 2010 Survive?
The popular Kindle is starting to look sort of lost now among the extraordinary number of new e-book reading devices just released or soon to be. In fact, 2010 is really the year of the e-reader. But can the e-reader survive or are they doomed?
The Business-Centric Plastic Logic Que
The long anticipated Plastic Logic’s Que arrives on the scene. Thanks to its unique flexible screen (hence “plastic logic”) and elegant design shaking up a market known for some very ugly gizmos. Launched last week it seems to have delivered on both those fronts. Not only its looks but a surprising new element: The e-reader device due soon, but it’s target appeal is almost exclusively for business users.
At a cost of $800, mostly rich ones at that. The idea does hold some merit since the Que can act as a powerful business tool drawing together lots of live data (email), stored data (business document or project archives), and it will even let you edit the content to a limited extent. We will see how well it will sell even though it is definitely neat, but with a high price.
